A global Private Equity Firm’s investment committee required a detailed assessment of the environmental and contextual risks of a substantial investment project in South Africa and the likely impacts on return, before the release of the final tier of funds required to commence the project.
Gatehouse worked with the client to evaluate the critical dependencies of the investment and assessed the impact of the contextual factors that might potentially impact the valuation and yield of the project. Gatehouse invited a team of South African subject matter experts with a unique understanding of the sector and market to assess these factors and the steps that the PE firm could take to mitigate its risks and protect potential yields.
After detailed discussion and analysis, the Investment Committee accepted that the macro-due diligence was complete and the project valuation was accurate. It released funds to initiate the Project, which is now successfully under way.
